With spring just around the corner, many watersports enthusiasts have started planning to go riding with their Sea-Doo® PWC. If you also want to enjoy the sights and sounds of your favorite spots around this time, our guide can help you get started.

Read our spring riding guide to learn a few ways to make your outing safer and more enjoyable. If you need more information, swing by S&N MotorSports for a friendly chat with our team. We are in Port Charlotte, FL, and we are happy to welcome our patrons from Fort Myers.

De-winterize Your Sea-Doo® PWC

Start de-winterizing your Sea-Doo PWC by recharging your battery and putting it back into your model. You’ll also want to drain out your motor oil and fuel and replace them with fresh fluids. Refer to your craft’s owner’s manual to determine whether you’ll need a pre-mixture of the liquids (a 2-stroke engine), or you will need to fill them into separate tanks (4-stroke engines).

You’ll also want to lubricate all the bearings and tighten up loose cables, wires, and belts. In addition, you’ll want to replace your model’s spark plugs and keep a spare set with you while out on the water.

Dress Appropriately

Although winter is over, you’ll still need to wear a few extra layers to keep yourself warm and comfortable. The temperature on the water is lower than on land, and dressing in multiple layers will offer you the warmth you need. If you start to feel hot and uncomfortable, you can remove a few layers.

Check the Weather Forecast

More importantly, you’ll want to ensure that you check the weather forecast before you depart. This will help you pack all the items you’ll need to stay warm and comfortable on the water and will be a deciding factor on whether to delay your trip in case of inclement weather conditions.
